We are thrilled to announce that Coach Babalwa Zothe has been honoured as the News24 Young Mandela in Social Justice. This recognition is a testament to her dedication, resilience, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of young female cricketers in Khayelitsha.

Babalwa’s journey with us began as a volunteer coach at what was then known as the Gary Kirsten Foundation, now proudly called the CATCH Trust. Over the years, her hard work and perseverance have not only elevated her to a leadership role but also turned her into a beacon of hope and a role model for many young girls in our community.

Upon receiving the honour, Babalwa shared her heartfelt thoughts:

“Being recognized as a Young Mandela is so inspiring, and it motivates me to do more. I hope that every young girl out there sees this and knows that you can do anything you put your mind to. It truly is an honour for me, and I’m grateful.”

Coach Babalwa’s impact extends beyond the cricket field. Her work has empowered countless young girls, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with the same determination and passion that she embodies. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and look forward to seeing the continued positive influence she will have on our community.
