Celebrating Excellence: CATCH Trust Players Shine at Provincial Trials

In July 2024, 37 talented players under the CATCH Trust banner attended the Western Province Trials. Their hard work, commitment, and dedication paid off as 18 players were selected to represent Western Province and Boland in their respective age groups.

This is a testament to their unwavering effort and the support of their coaches, families, and peers. We are incredibly proud to announce the players who will don provincial colours at this years’ provincial tournaments.

Reflecting on the achievements of our players, it’s inspiring to note how far they’ve come. Among the players selected this year, six of them were part of the group that toured England back in 2019:

  • Owethu Moyi
  • Buhle Mfunelwa
  • Mila Silamsi
  • Unathi Magoloza
  • Lona Pitoli
  • Nande Mguye

We caught up with Mila Silamsi to reflect on his incredible journey from 2019 to now. Mila shared:

“I had to work hard so that I could reach the level of playing provincial cricket as well as make the Khaya Majola Team next year. My goal for the upcoming tour is to come back home with the Player of the Tournament award.”

His dreams are big, and his determination is even bigger. As Mila wisely said:

“If your dreams don’t scare you, you are not dreaming big enough.”

Congratulations to All Our Provincial Players

CATCH Trust is proud of your accomplishments. Your success inspires the next generation of cricketers in the Khayelitsha community. We wish you all the best as you continue to represent your provinces and pursue your cricketing dreams.

Dream. Believe. Achieve.
