Week 2 of the SportSmart Futures Programme carried forward the same energy and enthusiasm from Week 1! The day kicked off with a thrilling game of hand soccer, immediately immersing participants in teamwork and movement. This was followed by a series of energetic warm-up exercises to get both the participants and team ready for the exciting session ahead.
Following the warm-up, Nigel Mecuur reintroduced the Street Smart Up Starts module, giving participants a deeper understanding of what to expect as they progressed through the programme. Engaging discussions and hands-on activities kept everyone actively involved, fostering both mental and physical growth.
Building on the foundation laid in Week 1, participants tested their skills in a series of challenges, earning points based on their throwing accuracy, bowling skills, target throwing, and catching. This competitive element ignited a spark among the participants, bringing out their determination and passion. The value of teamwork and motivation was on full display as they encouraged and pushed each other to improve.
With another high-energy session wrapped up, the SportSmart Futures Programme continues to inspire and develop future champions. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
