Riding for Purpose: Gary Kirsten Takes on 1,200km for the CATCH Trust Girls Cricket Tour

From 26 November to 1 December 2025, Gary Kirsten will take on one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges — the Munga MTB Race, covering 1,200 kilometres across South Africa.

But for Gary, this race isn’t just about endurance. It’s about purpose. It’s about creating opportunities.

Through this journey, Gary aims to raise R1 million for the CATCH Trust Girls Cricket Tour to the UK in 2026, a once-in-a-lifetime experience designed to empower, uplift, and inspire the next generation of young female cricketers.

Each 100 kilometres will represent one of Gary’s 12 most memorable cricket centuries, connecting his personal legacy of sporting excellence to the dreams of tomorrow’s changemakers.

In 2019, CATCH and Gary took a group of U13 boys to the UK, where they played matches and attended Cricket World Cup games, an unforgettable adventure that expanded their horizons both on and off the field, relive those moments here https://youtu.be/dr82-RkA1Hw.

Now, it’s the girls’ turn. Every kilometre, every pedal stroke, will bring us closer to creating opportunities that change lives.

We believe in the power of sport to open doors, to build confidence, and to nurture leadership, values that lie at the heart of everything we do at CATCH Trust.

Join us. Support Gary’s ride. Together, let’s give these girls the chance to dream beyond boundaries.
